B2: 2 txt bugs

Post by Dreamer »

Steps with my ini only:

- in Options > Browser > Open action > Text files > "Open in xnview"
- restart xnview
- place 1 txt and 2 jpg files to new folder
- double-click the txt file in browser
- txt file is shown
- press page down
- image is shown
- press page up
- another image is shown
- try to switch between all files
= there are just 2 images there, no txt file :bug: #1
- press Escape
- go to txt file
- press Enter
= error dialog is shown :bug: #2

Steps with default settings (strange):

- in Options > Browser > Open action > Text files > "Open in xnview"
- restart xnview
- place 1 txt and 2 jpg files to new folder
- double-click the txt file in browser, or press Enter on txt file
= error dialog is shown :bug:

- select txt image in browser
- press F11
- txt file is shown in fullscreen correctly

then
- press page down
- image is shown
- press page up
- another image is shown
- try to switch between all files
= there are just 2 images there, no txt file :bug:

Worse, worse…

:) Hello !

• I prepared the files in an empty dir. in order to test your steps…

- Here, "Use all formats" is checked in "General >> Startup"
- Then, all boxes for the text files are checked in the dialogue "Displayed files"
- In the browser, as soon as I 2-click on the thumb-nail of the text-file, I get the beloved message" Format of <xxx.txt> couldn't be determined". Several tries, same result. BUT : The text file is displayed in the preview area ! :P :bug:

- PageDown doesn't display another file, simply it removes the current file in the preview area, same with PageUp.
- I can display the pics normally via 2-click, though.
- I can switch between the files using <— —> arrow-keys, that works in the preview; in this case, the text does not trigger the error message !
- Escape >> Back to the browser, 1-click on the text thumb-nail : right preview without the error message !

:| No further for that night… I'll test with default settings a bit later. This part might be cleared first, I think…

With minimal default---

:) Hi !

- With the minimal default settings and "Open in XnView" for the text files, I get exactly the same behaviour than above; the full screen is right, like you say, but the other differences remain.

Yes, it's an error, open action for text must not exist...

I can't reproduce this in B3 so is this fixed or what?
XnView Tweak UI - Tool to customize your XnView beyond the regular XnView options.
UI-less Settings - Documentation of all the hidden settings in XnView.
XFAM - Tool to create and customize XnView file associations.
