Is it possible to tell XnView to avoid checking files that have the "icn" extension ? I have an app that generates such files but they are not images, still XnView tries to decode them and it consumes time !

No, you can't. But could you send me an example to check?

I have created 200 text files, each 36KBytes in size and renamed them to .icn. Then I have displayed them (no image!) in the XnView browser. It took half a second.

How large are your icn files? How long needs XnView on your computer to display the icn files? Are there icn files only in that directory or are there images files, too?
