Are HEIF files with the HIF file extension supported now? I have lots of Sony HIF files and do not want to have to change the file extension for all of them. Lightroom Classic supports HIF files and so does the Windows Photo app.
Sony produces 10-bit HEIF files: HEIF (4:2:0) and HEIF (4:2:2). They can be sRGB or HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) that Sony says is "BT.2100 color space (BT.2020 color gamut).
Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Panasonic, etc. produce files with the HIF file extension.

Re: HIF file extension support
I downloaded and installed and it works with HIF file extension files. Great! I can now view my HIF files, compare 2 side-by-side, etc.
I asked because on the website it says only HEIC and HEIF file extensions are supported:
https://www.xnview.com/en/image_formats/

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Hi support,
it's known it can get solved if we re name it.. but is there anything we can do in order to support the HIF (not HEIF) Format?

Re: HIF file extension support
The page I linked to above that shows the supported file formats still shows that for HEIF the only two accepted extensions are HEIF and HEIC. Cameras produce HIF files though and XnView MP already supports the HIF file extension so the page needs to be updated to show that the HIF file extension is supported.

Re: HIF file extension support
I can confirm that hif files show up in the browser just fine and in explorer as being registered to XnView, without having to add it anywhere in the custom filter.
