Folders and subfolders (Recursion)

Post by marten »

Hello,
Is it possible that nconvert looks in a folder and all his subfolders to convert images ?
I don't find a working syntaxs
Now i have : nconvert -overwrite C:\Users\Marten\Desktop\FOLDER1\*.*
But if i place in FOLDER1 a subfolder ( lets say FOLDER1A ) the images in folder1a are not converted.
What am i doing wrong ?
Thanks for support

Seemingly not using NConvert, although I thought possibly one level might be supported, but if it's any help the GUI software XnConvert supports recursion. :)

Certainly, when you have time, I think some users might well wish to use NConvert that way.

The Gui is not the solution here. I have a folder structure and it only convert the first folder. All the sub folders in the main folder are not converted.
So .. for the moment .. there is no way.. correct ?

I was suggesting that, if it would be an acceptable solution, you could possibly perform the task you wish to perform using XnConvert, the cross-platform and very attractive GUI application.

Pending the addition of recursion to NConvert, which Pierre has indicated he will consider and you might wish to support?

Do you want to test the version with recurse?
Pierre.

The latest 7.98 version incorporating the newly added recursion option was released yesterday for everyone... :D

Thank you very much for the implementation recurse.
I found the small bug: if filename contains a dot (for example: IMG.6736.JPG or 04.12.2021.JPG), then file will be saved without extension (IMG.6736 or 04.12.2021).
