Dear all,
I have XnView v2.48. It displays EXIF metainformation this way:
xnview_gps.png
exiftool decodes it just fine:
Code: Select all
[Composite] GPS Latitude : 45 deg 56' 7.86" N
[Composite] GPS Longitude : 8 deg 34' 31.23" E
[Composite] GPS Position : 45 deg 56' 7.86" N, 8 deg 34' 31.23" E
JPEG sample is attached.
Feature request : Would be nice if XnView could generate and display a link to Google Maps like
https://www.google.com/maps/place/46°03 ... 40'04.8"E/ based on GPS position.

I have tested on another Windows 10 EN x64 with English setting, and there is no issue (degree is displayed correctly). I don't know where exactly to look at, because I suppose that non-console applications should be Unicode, so this setting for non-Unicode programs should not affect them. I'll try to keep an eye on this issue further, but for sure it varies from one setup to another...

I just noticed that on "problematic" Windows all Cyrillic characters in file view are displayed incorrectly, however they are displayed correctly in tree view.
Here is view for the same shared folder on "problematic" Windows 10:
shot2.png
and correctly working Windows 7:
shot1.png
Probably displaying of Unicode character as two characters in EXIF view and that effect in file view are related.
"Russian" language is set for non-unicode programs on both Windows, so very likely it does not affect the problem.
XnView v2.50.
