Hi,

after my upgrade of fine working xnview on Debian Sarge to 1.70 it's not starting anymore.
On command line I get error
"xnview: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

Anyone seen same problems?
Even installing old version, removing all xnview stuff gets not working.

Thanks

Stephan

Read the 5th comment:

http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?t=3373

There are three solutions:

- Use the Fedora Core 4 binary of XnView 1.70 and install glibc >= 2.3.4 and libstdc++ >= 3.4.0.
- Use the RedHat 6 binary of XnView 1.70.
- Downgrade to XnView 1.68.1

This is impossible. XnView 1.68.1 is not even linked against libstdc++.so.6.

Hello Andres,

I just tried the second variant (Red hat binary) but still get a similar error:

xnview: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Is there something wrong with my path?:
PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/bin/X11

hi there,
are there any updates about the libstdc++5 version? got the same problem when trying to run the 1.7 version on mandrake 10.0, a version without updating the libc would be great.

ok, reading first mostly helps :wink:

the redhat version seems to work fine on mandrake/mandriva 10.0

and THANKS very much for the automatic preview rotating on exif information and the fast embedded preview added in the linux version, too. well, thanx for xnview anyway! :)

i hope the other exif functions, such as automatic lossless rotation on exif will come soon to close up to the win version.
