0.86: GPS tag is missing in Info column (usually)
Posted: Sun May 28, 2017 8:45 pm
XnView: MP 0.86 - 64 bit
OS: Windows 10 1703 - 64bit
GPS tag is usually missing (in Info column) although GPS info is present and xnView is correctly displaying the GPS tab in the Info panel.
Effect: Wrong info shown to the user.
To reproduce:
Well, as the bug is veeeeeery strange, I'll explain with screenshots. I also upload the conflictive jpg used in the example.
1. Look at the first screenshot. All those images have got GPS coordinates. But GPS tag is missing from the Info column in Detail View. Nevertheless you can see there's GPS info in Exif data and you can also see the GPS tab in the Info panel. (I haven't shown it, but GPS tab shows the correct location, therefore xnView is actually reading those GPS data).
2. Now the weird part. All those images come from Adobe Ligthroom. If I re-export the jpg and I make a refresh in xnView (by pressing F5), GPS tag magically appears. Look at the second screenshot. You'll see that GPS tag is present and you can notice how this new file has an updated modified date. (But it is actually the very same jpg...).
3. But if I exit that folder and re-enter it, GPS tag is gone again. Look at the third screenshot.
Actual behaviour (bug): GPS tag is usually missing although xnView does read the GPS data.
Expected behaviour: GPS tag should always be shown.
