Blue area: the option has a value of 2048 KB, but as you see it on the second screeshot, xnview still shows thumbnail for 45 MB file.

Perhaps the thumbnail is already in cache files, so in this case you have the thumbnail. Try with an empty cache.

This option does nothing for me neither. Even if I removed all from cache, every thumbnail would still be displayed whichever the filesize.

I used 1024kb which is the default.
Test file was 1.71Mb in size.

BTW, I suggest to rename this option to: No thumbnail for files larger than [____] KB. It just sounds better.

Ok, now i understand. for other files, xnview takes the thumbnail from windows explorer. So XnView doesn't create thumbnail for this file.
Perhaps it's better to use the same option for others files??

For what "other" files? Which files are "other"? BMP, as in EgoSun's example?
