1. In XnView, Browser Mode
2. Open any image in View Mode
3. Remove Red Eye is on toolbar
4. Open options -> deselect "Remove Red Eye" -> OK
5. It's still there!
6. Close View mode and return to Browser mode
7. Re-open View mode and "Remove Red Eye" button is still there.

- And here, the scanner button is displayed always, while it's not ticked, this continues for ages…

This works for me on Windows XP SP2 and Windows 98 SE. Toolbar buttons Scan, Adjust, Red Eye can be shown or hidden without any problem.

Yes (after xnview restart), but I see now, that only with my old xnview.ini from 1.74 and I don't have that problem with Scan button (see Clo's post).

:) Hello !
- I mean : at the start-up, with an empty main window, the "Scanner" button is there still, though it's not ticked in the list.
It isn't displayed otherwise, with other modes.

What is "empty main window"? Browser / Viewer??

Try close xnview, rename xnview.ini, and check it again then.

When you start xnview without browser & view window. Yes, here the scan icon can not be removed. But a little issue for me.

Yes, I agree, but I have "Adjust Brightness/..." button always in viewer - exactly as ckit's "Remove Red Eye" button (but only with my old xnview.ini, maybe there is some option...).

If you remove your xnview.ini, you can remove the button?
Could you send me your ini, please?
