RC2: Folder Tab mode automatically activated

Post by ckit »

This bug wasn't present in RC1

1. In XnView Browser Mode -> No Folder Tabs
2. Double-click on any file
3. It opens in View mode but with Folder Tabs active!

XnView 1.80 <x>
AMD Ryzen 3 3300X 3.8Ghz, 16Gb DDR4, RX6600XT with Dell U2520D at 2560x1440@60Hz scaling 125%
Win11 x64 24H2, Hard Disk Sentinel Pro, MS PowerToys, Process Lasso Pro and Wintoys

So View/Folder tabs is not set, you open a picture in view, and the tab appears, right?

I had everything unchecked.
Of course, at the moment I'm experimenting with Folder Tabs turned on.

I think "No thumbnail in folder tab" should be renamed to "No icon in folder tab"

1. Check that all Folder Tab options are unchecked
2. Exit XnView -> Restart XnView
3. In XnView Browser Mode -> No Folder Tabs present!
4. Double-click on an image file
5. It opens in View mode but with Folder Tabs active!

I can send you my XnView INI file if you would like to check it or play with it.

If "Always folders tabs" is disabled, View/Folder tabs is enabled, so when you open a picture, folder tabs is showed. It's normal.

Ok, it just looked like a bug thats all.
This will need to be well documented before 1.80 final is released.

Perhaps it would be clearer if it was named "Use folder tabs even for one window". (Native speakers please correct if needed).

Hide the tab bar when only one window is open?

"Hide the tab bar when only one window is open" or "Use folder tabs even for one window"???? "Use folder tabs even for one window" seems better for me...
