RC1: Skins inconsistent

Post by Danny »

As we all know the detail view has it's own little toolbar (up one level, new folder, rename, delete, ...). But only the default skin has the "View as" and "Sort by" buttons. Every other skin i tested does not have these. Has this got something to do with the missing .manifest file or do the skins have to be updated?
Oh, and the default buttons have a white background which looks ugly, too.

Cheers

The .manifest is the culprit for a couple of bugs, but not this one. Some of the skins available simply do not have the symbols for the "little" toolbar. But you have to be careful when checking out skins and trying to find a skin with "little" toolbar supported: When changing skin, the little toolbar is not updated until you exit and restart XnView. (Bug)

Do you mean the default skin for the toolbar? For having transparency for the default skin, you'll need the xnview.manifest in the program directory, see topic "RC1: Important issues".

I can confirm that behaviour with the manifest file from v1.74.

After changing the skin, the icons on the smaller tool bar left from the directory ComboBox don't refresh. They do after restart of xnView.

[Edit] Helmut just mentioned this. [/Edit]

I'm aware of that and i did restart the program after changing the skin. So the problem is that the skins haven't been updated yet, right? Any plans of doing so or is it the responsibility of the creators? IMHO not yet updated skins should not be included in the full version in order to avoid this kind of confusion.

This is more a reminder than a bug. Pierre should try to get the skins from the designers and then included these.
