Tools->Search works great: Named searches are very useful and the responsiveness is surprisingly very fast.
However, after clicking the "View..." button in the results dialog, although the browser thumbs immediately show the "found" files, there is no other indication in the browser of what the files represent, or how the user got to them.
There needs to be some sort of indication of what search has been applied. Perhaps a text message in the status bar and a symbol in the mini-toolbar?
Something like:
Search "Embed name of active search here" is active
or
Search "Embed active search parameter list here" is active
???

+1 yes, simply "<Search results>" as in the Windows version and the displayed result search into a new window (a new tab).
XnViewMP Linux X64 - Debian - X64

Well.. that sounds like a "multiple-browser" approach to me! Support ++oops66 wrote:and the displayed result search into a new window (a new tab).

Yes, this behavior should be by default in XnViewMP (with an option to disable or enable it) - IMHOJohnFredC wrote:Well.. that sounds like a "multiple-browser" approach to me! Support ++oops66 wrote:and the displayed result search into a new window (a new tab).
