[OK] RC1: Batch Rename - move thumbnail above "Old name
Batch Rename - move thumbnail above "Old name" - Old name and New name length is very important, more important than number of files / rows.
You could save some space, e.g. place "Start" and "Step" into one row...
Also you could add some image info next to the thumbnail.

Not sure that i can put above the thumbnail. Perhaps i must grow up the dialog in width??Dreamer wrote:Batch Rename - move thumbnail above "Old name" - Old name and New name length is very important, more important than number of files / rows.

Why, it would be difficult to change or there would be not enough rows?xnview wrote:Not sure that i can put above the thumbnail.
But there would be lot of space above and below then. I'd prefer thumbnail somewhere else than next to "old/new names" - it's a little bit atypical too, rather above or below, if you could also save some space...xnview wrote:Perhaps i must grow up the dialog in width??
But if it's too difficult to change, never mind, not so important.

Not sure whether long filenames are needed often. But I can imagine that some people have problems with the current size. So we should do something about this.
I've changed the existing design and made a draft:

The layout does not look as neat as the current design, but it's also o.k..
When moving the thumbnail you have to redo the design of the dialog. This is why Pierre is hesitant.Dreamer wrote:Why, it would be difficult to change or there would be not enough rows?xnview wrote:Not sure that i can put above the thumbnail.

Yes this is better.helmut wrote:I've changed the existing design and made a draft:

I'm using 3rd layout with a preview on left, therefore I think "it's a little bit atypical" too.
Maybe I'll try to create some draft too, with a preview on left side

Re: Batch Rename - move thumbnail above "Old name"
You can try to make a better one, but be aware that there are other dialogs with preview (e.g. Open / Slide Show / ...). Most of them have the preview on the right side.Dreamer wrote:Maybe I'll try to create some draft too, with a preview on left side

Nice layout! add a grey border around thumbnails, maybe.helmut wrote: I've changed the existing design and made a draft:
