crash with this image

it works when you doubleclick it in explorer.

it crashes when you open xnview, navigate to the folder where it is stored and doubleclick it via thumbnail browser.

confirm?

I can't confirm, could you try to disabled 'read ahead' & 'cache behind'?

hm, dont know exactly the circumstances, now it worked.

but try this please:
open xnview, navigate to the folder with the image.
close xnview.
open xnview (with last folder saved its again in the folder with the pic).
rightclick on thumbnail "copy to folder" to desktop.
click in xnview-browser on desktop.
doubleclick the thumbnail.
it crashes here?!

yes it crashes when i do the procedure above.
but if its ok with others, its not THAT importent.
if it happens again with another image i´ll write again..

Do you have tried with 'read ahead' disabled?
