Zoom Lock does not maintain its position when browsing....

Post by HandsOff! »

...zoomed images. If you view a large image after hitting shift+8 in order to zoom to actual image size, then use the 'page down' key to view the next image the picture will not be centered at the same coordinates. It will be centered on the upper left part of the image (assuming the image is bigger than the monitors viewing area).

This was not always the case. The zoom lock used to function similar to how my Canon Rebel XTi zoom works: After zooming in, moving to the next picture will have the same zoom magnification, and it will be on the same coordinates as you have been using. This is crucial when comparing multiple photos in order to select the best one!

I recently posted this under the "general help" part of the forum here:

However, I think it might really be a bug, since it is a loss of functionality that an earlier version had.

This is a new install of the v193.6. I used the inno installer, and chose to use the .ini file instead of the registry install. I previously had an older version v19x.x with the registry install chosen instead of the .ini.

This brings up a question. when I ran xnview v193.6 for the first time, it opened to the last location that I had browed to with the old version! How did it know? I had everything uninstalled. I even did a search and deleted all references to XnView in my registry! Maybe I should try a registry install in hopes of overwriting any old data?

My computer has Windows XP-home edition SP1.

...so, is this a bug, a problem not reproduceable, or a feature that is no longer part of XnView?
