[Fixed] RC2: "Replace / With" doesn't work if...

Post by Dreamer »

If "Name template" and "Replace / With" options are enabled in Batch Rename, "Replace With" doesn't work.

Pierre thinks that using a file template and replacing is not needed at the same time. Like you, I think this is a bug.

One box could be greyed out while the other is in use.

Yes, then users would understand. But why limit functionality, here?

I agree, another question is what should be applied first, second, third (replace, rename, case)?

1. Name template & extension
2. Replace characters
3. Case

Some explanation:
Case is easy. Since the user wants the filename and extension to have a specific case, you have to apply it last.

Typically, 1 & 2 are not applied at the same time. There's two approaches to decide on the order: Most possibilites or user interface design. I would go for the latter (without thinking about the possibilites). Since Name template & extension is at top, I'd expect it to be applied first.

Just my 2cents...
