Tool/Preview pane: how to enable? [solved:file list option]

I've just seen the preview pane in XnView MP, and like to have a similar in XnView 1.96.1. It should be in tool/preview, but it is always greeyed in my PC. Why? How could I enable it? When I show it (ctrl+shift+p), the pane keeps empty...

I think it would be easiest to start over with new default settings: close program, rename ".ini" to ".old", restart. If you're working with large files, also check that Options... Browser>File List>Files smaller than [987654321] can accommodate them.

Thanks to have speak about the "file list" options, I had simply to activate the image for the preview panel
