Again…
• Every time I go in the browser and try to close it via the [
x ] Win button, the MP 01 crashes…
AppName: xnview.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: qtcore4.dll
ModVer: 4.4.3.0 Offset: 000d1850
- Above the tool-bar, there is a small part of the View tool-bar¦tabs (?) visible, if you click there = crash !

• I said :
• Every time I go in the browser and try to close it via the [x] Win button, the MP 01 crashes…
• I get that thingy also in the browser, of course ! It seems this is a truncated rank of tabs…
- I start MP from TC (button) with a file, then go to the browser via the Browser button in View.

Hello !
• It works better when started without a file, but that isn't the way I use XnView generally…
• Starting from an icon on my Desktop, then having 2 files in View (thus, 3 tabs),
it crashes totally when I close the last file tab.
- I noticed also that it's slow the hell to close the tabs…
and for any other operation with regard to the same images¦folders with
1.95 which has still :
XnView.db 20,0 Mio 17/10/2008 23:44 -a--
cache_thumb.db 7,1 Mio 12/12/2007 11:38 -a--

Good evening,
• There are the values of DB for the 1.95 I use, and just to show that despite so large values, 1.95 is faster a lot.
• Below the same values for MP 0.1 :
XnView2.db 0,9 Mio 24/06/2008 02:35 -a--
XnView.db 2,9 Mio 17/10/2008 23:59 -a--
You have opened a lot of tabs?
• Pierre, please READ ! I wrote :

Hello !
What is faster??
• Roughly,

- Display Preview, switch Browser >> View and back… And especially close tabs (without any crash in 1.95).
- Sorry, I couln't test further as long as I'll get crashes continually…

Hello,
For me, the MP win0.1 version is faster that v1.95 for:
Faster:
-Building the thumbnails data base,
-the search result,
-IPTC Keywords filters
-If "hight quality zoom"= ON, especially at hight zoom level
About the same ~ speed:
- View and preview ( of course if same "hight quality zoom" configuration in both versions, same ICC conf., etc...)
A bit slower:
- to display the preview if an other thumbnail is selected.
- I have more latency if I switch between modes (especially from Full Screen mode --> to Browser mode) but even between Browser mode <--> View mode
PS: I have no crash too.

When you select a thumbnail, the preview is loaded slower?

Yes, a little bit slower, with the MP Win0.1 ver = ~ 1/2s, with v1.95 =~ 1/4s.
But maybe because I have split the Preview pan and other Properties+Histogram+Exif... pan ?
see picture layout config. here:
http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?p=67571#67571
... Yes it is that why, if option View\Preview Pan\Preview in Tab = on, this is faster (~ like v1.95), but the pan blinks one time.
PS: For information, my both versions (MP0.1 Windows and v1.95 are under Wine)

When you have that preview in tab, it's faster???
Pierre.
