Many good features are disabled by default...

Post by Dreamer »

Many good features are disabled by default - can you turn them on? (for other users who don't know about them and don't play with options like me  )

- view - double click to go to fullscreen
- file list - cache - read ahead, keep in cache
- file list - automatically select new files
- fullscreen - file index
- slide show - save relative paths in SLD file (if it's burned on CD it's too late)

And probably a little bug in options - Associations are twice there - under "File types" too.

Thank you!

Not sure, that they must be by default! What do you think?

"File types" are not for associations!

OK, but what is it? It might be confusing for some users...

In category "Associations" you set the associations.

OK, but what is it? It might be confusing for some users...
In the category "File types" you simply specify the file types that appear in the dialogs "File open" and "File save". Not more and not less.

To make this clearer, the current hint
"Select the file types which you want to use in XnView"
that is shown should rather say something like
"Select the file types which are available when opening or saving a file".
An English native speaker might even have a better wording. Sure enough, this should be changed for all languages.

Yes, very confusing. The next time i'll remake this option. It's for format list only
Pierre.
Thanks Helmut, Pierre already answer this question.

But I moved this thread here mainly because of this question:
