And QuickTime Alternative is now also updated to use QuickTime 7.0.4 components.
QuickTime Alternative will allow you to play QuickTime files without having to install the official QuickTime Player. It also supports QuickTime content that is embedded in webpages.

To make sure that everyone knows. QuickTime Alternative is against QuickTime lisence and therefore technically QuickTime Alternative is illegal. But wasn't it obvious?

Latest versions:
QuickTime Alternative 1.69 - for Win 2000/2003/XP/Vista (QuickTime Codecs v7.0.4.80)
QuickTime Alternative 1.56 - for Win 98/ME/2000/2003/XP/Vista (Latest QuickTime 6.x Codecs)

QuickTime Alternative 1.71 is released

Changes
- Updated Media Player Classic to version 6.4.9.0 rev. 611
- Downgraded QuickTime components to version 7.0.4.80. This restores Windows 2003/XP64 compatibility.
- Replaced QuickTime DirectShow parser with a new set of filters.
- Removed localized QT components, making everything English only. This reduces the installer size with 1 MB.

Apple has asked -> http://codecguide.com/ to remove QuickTime Alternative's links which means it's officially dead.
Very sad day :(
