DirectX Redistributable
This download provides the DirectX 9.0c end-user multi-languaged redistributable that developers can include with their product. The redistributable license agreement covers the terms under which developers may use the Redistributable. For full details please review the DirectX SDK EULA.txt and DirectX Redist.txt files located in the license directory.

This package is localized into Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Czech, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish, Swedish, and English.

What is so special about DirectX 9.0c?

It was already available a half year ago

It's December 2005 edition. :) I guess that it haves better support for new hardware and minor fixes / changes. It's always good to have the latest version. ;)

The main difference is that these contain "Managed DirectX components" used by some games and software.

how come even on instaling directx 9.0c from game cd & downloading & instaling it the system fails to recognise it & still displays only directx 9.0c then unabling games needing directx 9.0c to run. my OS is Windows Xp Service Pack 2. Kindly reply at educationforall@hotmail.com

He's probably talking about the DirectX Software Development Kit.

The DirectX 9.0c Redistributable is just 33.5 MB as usual.
