Sorry for my english.
When I right-click on a file without extension the Windows Explorer crash.
The cause is xnviewshellext.dll
If I uninstall XnView Shell all work well!
There is a solution for this problem?
Thank you.
Xnview Shell crash Windows Explorer
Moderators: helmut, XnTriq, xnview
Not here---

- I can't reproduce this here under XP-Pro (Fr).
- I removed the extension from a *.JPG file. I got the same result either in Win Explorer or in Total Commander :
• Simply, I don't get the thumb-nail and the entries, the features are missing, but no crash occurs…

hi,
i read the threats containing "XnViewShellExt.dll" but did only found, that there were some problems :-)
so i don't add a new topic, but post here.
i wanted to overwrite my current installation with the content of the newest zip file. XnView-win-full.zip
but this file could not be overwritten: XnViewShellExt.dll
i don't know why? anyone any ideas? excpect rebooting :-)
btw: i did a normal install of the XnView-win-full.exe before (hours ago) and did not reboot.

Rename your XnView folder "\Program Files\XnView" to "\Program Files\XnView_old" and log off. Log back in and install the new version then delete "\Program Files\XnView" once you've copied your INI out.
Another way would be to use "Process Explorer" and search the processes for any using "XnViewShellEx.dll", kill that process and then install XnView!
