Strange I have "View / File list / Play movie" disabled all the time and I can watch movies just fine. I use the new "Items display" system
Update:
I just saw this error message for myself and I'm really pissed!
Pierre, either get rid of "View / File list / Play movie" or get rid of "Browser / Items Displayed / Video Files" you can't have both.

I get the feeling this will be "Postphoned" which means everyone should switch over to using external media players with XnView until this is resolved.
