Dragging images will lockup xnviewmp
I wrote a custom python that opens a window on macOS.
I drag the images over and they get automtically tagged (using exiftool and trained AI). It works great and xnvewmp will pickup the tags so essentially i get autotagging in xnview.
However, I noticed xnviewMP will occoasially lockup. It's not my program because the tagging finishes. It seems to have trouble reading the directory and thus it locks up and you have to force quit
1.8.2 M1 64bit and macOS 15.0.1

No python script is different, I think that's not the issue as I'm sure it's this same bug now

I too run xnviewmp from macOS to access SMB. Not sure if this is a Sequoia bug, but it used to be fine.

All my JPGs are on SMB
Script is just a totally seperate python that creates a window to drag images onto. I should add, the lockup doesn't occur when dragging images, and it usually works 90% of the time, but occasionally xnviewmp will just lockup. I think it maybe more to do with it reading the updated files over smb

I think it's just SMB from my testing - finder or other programs using SMB not an issue

No, it seems just SMB only. The lockup usually occurs after the image has been dragged. So it's not a drag operation itself. I feel XNView is trying to write tags over SMB where the lockup occurs
Re: Dragging images will lockup xnviewmp
is it possible to send us a script that lock XnView?
Pierre.
