Confirm if drag too many files in / escape to interrupt...

Post by meteorquake »

I sleepily dragged a very large number of large images into XNView, when I had meant to drag them into a batch conversion. In your mind it's open when of course it's not :) I'm sure I'll not be the first person to do this.

* I think it would be ideal if XNView prompts to confirm when dragging in a large number of files. I would suggest a prompt for 10+ files (if there is an existing setting then it must be too high!) I'm not sure if the escape has been implemented, but if not hitting the escape should pause any opening and ask whether to continue or abort, so someone dragging in say 9 files (below the prompt) can still abort the action.

Just to improve on this suggestion, in dragging more than in a certain number of files, XNView asks to confirm, but also provide the option to open them in the batch converter or as a filelist.

So for example if you drag 200 files onto XNView, it pops up and some people may choose to cancel the drag, others might choose to open them in the batch converter others might choose to open them as a filelist. I don't think anyone would want to open 200 files in one go.
