I want to hold down a control key (eg Ctrl) and then click and drag left and right to zoom in and out in real time.
This feature is found in other applications such as graphics programs (eg Photoshop) and video players (PotPlayer). Not having precise real-time control of the zoom feels very old-fashioned to me.

Re: Zoom with mouse
I have easy-to-use zoom in my XNView software, not sure why yours doesn't have ... what might actually be the default: Right mouse button held down while scrolling. I don't remember setting that as a custom option but .... that is a remote possibility. I believe it's default though.

Re: Zoom with mouse
I don't recall a zoom by 'Ctrl + Click and drag mouse left and right' option, but you can set zoom by 'Ctrl + Mouse wheel' option in:Lee James wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2024 2:58 pm I want to hold down a control key (eg Ctrl) and then click and drag left and right to zoom in and out in real time.

Tools > Settings... > Interface > Mouse which should work well.
