I like to run multiple instances of XN MP, and when I do so every instance except the first will default to having the "category sets" panel open. When I go to view>panels>category sets and uncheck that option, it will turn back on after I view a picture in fullscreen, when I double click out and back to browser view, BAM there it is again, turned back on.
I've searched quite a bit and found nothing similar at all, it seems most people want to use categories, I don't want to use them at all. I've tried setting the options to my liking with only one instance open, closing and then trying again to no avail...
So what I'm trying to achieve is, run multiple instances of XN MP, switch from browser to fullscreen and back again, without the "category sets" panel popping up in the bottom right corner during browser view.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers
How to disable "Category Sets" panel permanently?

if you close the category panel, quit XnView, you will not have it at next startup

Re: How to disable "Category Sets" panel permanently?
Yeah, I did try that, many times, with no success.
Maybe I didn't elaborate well enough.
So If I am running 1 (single) instance of XN MP, then yes, that does work. However, when I then open a 2nd, 3rd, 4th ect. instance of XN MP (which launch in browser view as I want), after I select an image to view in fullscreen and double click out to switch back to browser view. The "category sets" panel is back in bottom right corner. EVERY TIME with out fail. Even if I go un-select it in the drop down "view" menu
No matter what I've done, this action/result always happens. I've even searched through all .cfg files in my app data folder but haven't found anything that seems to jump out at me that is the 0/1/2 true/false item to change.
So I was hoping you could point me in that direction in one of the .cfg files to edit. I don't use category/category sets or any panels really at all except the preview.
I'd be ok with completely disabling all panels except the preview if that's even possible....

you start 1st instance, close 'category sets' panel, close XnView.
open 1st instance, panel is hidden, open 2nd instance and you have panel??

Re: How to disable "Category Sets" panel permanently?
yes & no; I open the 2nd,(launches in browser) No category sets panel, I select an image, double click "on" an image for full screen (doesn't matter if I view only 1 or 100 images (in full screen) when I double click "in" the image again and return to browser view, there it is, the category sets panel. So now if I were to open a 3rd instance. Category sets are now displayed from the get-go and on every instance following...
