Hangs on startup with "rainbow circle" about 1/2 the time on MacOS

I have `/Volumes/Macintosh HD` in the "PathBrowser" field, and a random list of directories in "History".

If you clean only PathBrowser when you have the problem, is it enough?

I will try and see if that works.

Also, to be clear, *it does not always hang*. It does quite often, but sometimes without me touching the .ini file (because I just forget to do that sometimes), it works. And sometimes it does not work. I cannot predict it.
