Problems with .gif
Why do I see disgusting sharpness when opening .gif files? (Everything is in stairs, it's not minecraft, it's horrible to look at, it hurts my eyes); Also, when flipping .gif files is lagging at 1-0.5 seconds, it really annoys. Yes, I tried changing the sharpness in the settings, but it does not help. For example, there are two programs Quick Picture Viewer and ImageGlass, they have perfect sharpness. Maybe you can take their sharpness settings and integrate them into XnView? That would be very cool!

I can't do it, it says the file is too big, I didn't even think that in 2023 9Mb is a big file. Here's a link for you: https://images-wixmp-ed30a86b8c4ca88777 ... PLLVp9B-5w True, this is not the file, But to see the difference it is suitable.

By the way, I compared it point-blank and ImageGlass plays .gif not much smoother than Quick Picture Viewer. But I didn't notice any difference in quality.

Re: Problems with .gif
GIF, as palette-based, shall be always "sharp" by default
some viewers can apply smoothing at some point due to rendering limitations or as a feature,
eg when zooming at 400%:
- do smooth - acdsee, ms photos
- dont smooth - xnViewMP, nomacs, ImageGlass 9

What? What are you talking about? I don't understand. I wrote above that ImageGlass 8 (release) and 9 beta, do a great job of anti-aliasing for .gif. It does it perfectly, unlike XnView, which is terrible at it. Hopefully the next update will fix the anti-aliasing problem and it will be as good as ImageGlass or Quick Picture Viewer.user0 wrote: Thu Jun 29, 2023 7:57 am GIF, as palette-based, shall be always "sharp" by default

So in the end, I've discounted an example for you. I'm waiting to hear back.
