Re: XnviewMP starting very slow
On my Windows 10 machine, I had to switch back to the regular XnView too, instead of MP.
I use the portable version and tried quite all the possibilities described in this topic but no way (including standard ans custom cache path, parts of my HD being encrypted). As soon as the explorer mode is invoked, the application stalls.

Re: XnviewMP starting very slow
Yes. Forgot to clarify that.
No access to my Windows 10 machine before next week to confirm exact version, I updated it a couples of weeks ago IIRC.
I also tried to go back to old versions but could not find the latest without the issue (0.84 as far as I understood).
Off-topic: had great difficulties to register and post in the forum since last week (connection rejected or something like that, usually have to wait for the next day to complete the next step registration/activation/posting/answering). Seems to be better right now.

Re: XnviewMP starting very slow
I had tried your repo for the old versions but didn't find the 0.84.
I tried to add the debug=2 line in the ini file but what is to be expected exactly?
There does not seem to give any log file or any other UI telling what is going on.

Thanks for the repo.
I tested the version 0.84 (portable) but still no luck.
Will continue to use the classic version but if there is something I can do to help, let me know.

Re: XnviewMP starting very slow
I edited the .ini file to add the debug=2 line (no existing line with "debug", thus no "changed" value). But no improvement nor any log created that I could see. I use the portable version on my Windows 10 machine, .ini file in the application folder. But I tried with various settings and no change.
Not sure what you mean by "check XnViewMP". I tried an old version (0.84), which was supposed to be free of the bug according to a previous post but no change. Had even to kill the application with the task manager. I tried 1.4.5 again and same, open fine on a picture but stalls when switching to explorer mode.

Re: XnviewMP starting very slow
I had added it in the top section. Will do again next Tuesday.
What am I supposed to see when that setting is activated? So that I can report it here. Any log created?
