I have XnView MP Linux,Version 1.4.3 64bits. Today is my first time using XnView MP. I just want to say thank you for creating this.
I was using IrfanView for Windows & this is the closest equivalent so far
One small issue is how the area selection tool works, the border, etc, how do i change this?
I really like Irfanview's version of it. is there anyway to change it? adjust?
@cday, thanks! The only other issue I have for right now is that I'm using ZorinOS(ubuntu based) & it takes forever for XnView to start up or load a photo.
Even if I have XnView's empty browser open already(the application already started). Whereas in Windows 7, even with a slow/failing SSHD, Irfanview would open instantly/amazingly & was very quick. I loved it. I think XnView is just like IrfanView, except for this very serious flaw, the loading time for any photo, even small, is torture.

Please start a new thread for that!
I think that XnView MP with the file browser likely has much more to load, but I am using Linux Mint and have also found it slow to open recently.
@Intellectual123: Did changing the View menu grid setting actually solve your 'grid' problem?
I think the 'grid' in your XnView MP image may actually have been due to your Tools > Settings... > View -- View tab -- Selection setting: I think the default is not Normal, folowing a request to provide a Rule of thirds option, which I would have preferred not to have been made the default.
@cday: No, changing it under the view tab didnt remove it, right now that option doesnt do anything at all, whether on or off. But I recall 20 minutes ago,
when i turned it on it added even more grids to the area selection. What actually removed the grids completely was "Tools>Settings>View>Settings section(change of rule of thirds to “normal”)"
