Google GPS location in properties

Post by mrwul »

It would be nice if the "Google GPS location" would show up in properties.

I get things like: Latitude 51° 51' 17.22"
or: GPS Latitude : 51 deg 51' 17.22" N

In "Properties"> Tab GPS the location is shown, but I can't clipboard the Google GPS location from there.

Google shows this like the below

53.543491283638986, 9.987059968829843

Thanks.

Thank you for your suggestion which I find useful.

I've just tried out to copy the GPS position (EXIF data) of an image to the clipboard but it's not easy. Best that I could achieve is by selecting "GPS" note in the EXIF tab and then rightclick, "Copy all items" in the context menu. This is the info that is copied in the clipboard:
GPS
Version ID 2.0.0.0
Latitude Ref North
Latitude 54° 59' 22.80"
Longitude Ref West
Longitude 1° 54' 51.00"
TimeStamp 14 58 24
Map Datum WGS84

This is better than nothing but cannot just pasted into Google Maps or an E-Mail. Would be good if something like N54°59′22.80″ E001°54′51.00″ could be copied to clipboard.

Thanks for the reply.
Not sure whether it is possible for XnView to convert those GPS details.

Most 'converting'websites require details be entered manually, i.e. no copy-paste.

Found

https://www.earthpoint.us/Convert.aspx

that allows pasting.

We can use Tools>Metadata>Edit GPS , and "Copy"
Then paste in Google maps, add a comma between lat, lon and remove last value (elevation).

The reverse method copy-paste works better (From Google maps website to xnviewmp edit GPS )

I suggested :
Maybe Google format 49°40'12.41"N 1°40'31.26W could be (a better format) when using "Copy" button in XnViewMp...

Ah, I was not aware of your thread.
Hopefully, one day, there will be something like 'Show GPS in digital format'
('Google ready', so to say)

Thanks.

(p.s. not sure if at all it is technically feasible though.)
