So one day i start XnView and it crashes on start, no explanation, nothing special was done in recent days, after update to latest version(smth like month ago) everything was fine. Yep it proposes to send crash-log, but that doesn't solve my main problem = how to recover my settings stored locally in program folder in .ini?
By trying clean portable, which works, i presume it's smth in my .ini that XnView suddenly started to hate. Not only overall settings, but i have layout set there, so definitely don't want to lose that.. Obviously if i try to put my settings in clean extracted portable, it starts to crash too(though again, just few days ago my settings caused no problem at all).
What can i do?

Perhaps paste a part of your xnview.ini in a clean one, and try it in portable XnViewMP.
For example [start] [settings] [load] sections for a first try

will try, thanks for hint. if i find the reason will report it here.
Re: Crash on start - how to recover settings from INI?
veeery strange. i transferred most of blocks, all those seemed to be important for sure, and none made fresh portable to crash. so yeah, problem kinda solved, but i still don't understand what corrupted "old" portable, which is same version and most settings are now same.
