Displaying specific metadata items below browser thumbnail

Post by Ian Brown »

I frequently test lenses at different apertures on the same test subject. The metadata which is displayed below each thumbnail is more than I require and slows me down when I am skimming through dozens of apparently identical pictures. The main info I require is basically what is shown on the bottom line. eg. F-stop, focal length and lens name.
Is there any way to display just this or other selected information?
More info than I need to read quickly.

Thanks for the response Rick.
I don't really understand what you are saying. I selected General and Browser and Insert but the only items I could add were Camera Make and Lens. Unfortunately I could not make them appear.
If you look at my original screenshot, you will see that each thumbnail has 5 lines of metadata underneath it. I don't need all 5 lines.
Ideally I just want the first and last lines which show the file name, focal length,f-stop and shutter speed. The camera make and lens would also be useful.
I don't know whether this is possible or not but I couldn't work it out from your screenshot diagram.

Forgive a tired brain. That section deals with what you see when you hover a thumbnail

I've found the setting you need, I believe:

Tools > Settings > Browser > Thumbnail -- Label tab

Not easy as XnView MP has so many configuration options! :D

I hope the options you need are supported, there may be more due to be added.
