RC2: Slow loading and slow thumbnail creation for .CR2 files

Is the RC1 still with all the debug information and check inside? Because Canon RAW files are very slow to load and the thumbnails are very slow to build.

BreezeBrowser Pro is rather quick at the same task...

Firstly, XnView == Awesome. Unfortunately, I was thinking of finding something else when I got my digital camera, as it didn't support .cr2 (Canon Raw) files. I am excited to find that the new version will show .cr2s and create contact sheets for me. RC2, however, does take a prohibitively long time to load and create thumbnails. I hope this can be improved for a full version, which I look forward to registering when it is released.

Using 1.80.1, and rendering of CR2 files in full-screen and previews is very slow, at least 10 seconds each on a 1.6 Ghz processor. By comparison, IrfanView is almost instantaneous with CR2 files.

Is this something that can be fixed?
