Not fixed in 1.801: thumbnail-labels don't work

Post by jens116 »

Displaying EXIF- and IPTC-information in thumbnails on an win98-system it not working at all, but on an winxp-system is partially working (for example the exposure-time is missing).

xnview 1.80.1
windows 98 second edition (russian)
1024x768 16 bpp, 800x600 16 bpp

problem 1:
Thumbnail labels such as "file created date", "file modified date", "file type", "image properties" are not displayed at all (only blank bars). Label "file size" displayed correctly. When i switch to 32 bpp all labels displayed normally.

problem 2 (maybe not a problem?):
Label "image properties" shows something like <dimension>x<dimension>,<color density> instead of <dimension>x<dimension>,<!space!><color density>

problem 3:
When in thumbnail mode with "use color" disabled, thumbnail custom labels still has coloring.

problem 4 (maybe i miss something?):
Thumbnail text "back colour" option doesn't work.

Yes strange, i can reproduce it in 16bpp

Ok, i'll add a space

ok, :bugconfirmed:
problem 4 (maybe i miss something?):

Works only if thumbnail doesn't use "custom color"

I disabled options like "File List -> Use Colour", "Thumbnail -> Background Colour", "Thumbnail -> Thumbnail Back Colour" and "Thumbnail -> Flat Style", but got the following:

1. Thumbnail borders painted only if "Thumbnail Back Colour" is set (is it by design?).

2. "Text Colour" and "Text Back Colour" applied only to custom captions but not to standard file name caption (is it by design?).

3. "Text Back Colour" in custom thumbnail captions is replaced by "Use Colour" value after thumbnails built in uncached directory. In cached directory parameter "Use Colour" applied immediately.

I try various configurations with colour options from above, but results are the same ("Text Colour" and "Text Back Colour" are set to custom values).

My question was: Displaying EXIF- and IPTC-information in thumbnails on an win98-system it not working at all, but on an winxp-system is partially working (for example the exposure-time is missing).

I can confirm that my color settings under win98 were 16 bit. I can also confirm various problems with the thumbnails colors. Thanks at Guest that he went in such a way into the depth.

However the EXIF exposure time is not displayed until now, although it is correctly displayed in then fullscreen modus.

Could you send me a sample with good displaying in fullscreen, and not in labels?
Pierre.
