Unable to read XBS files created earlier

Post by MikeTheWatchGuy »

I was running 1.50A Beta and LOVING it. WOW what a GREAT piece of software.

Now I've converted to 1.51 and I cannot open my old .XBS scripts. It's a disaster!

I am also unable to reinstall now for some reason. I get the side-by-side error that has to do with C++ Redist 2008 which I have installed.

I cannot seem to roll back and this inability to open the old files is terrible.

I MUST be doing something wrong as no one else is complaining. It's happening on TWO computers of mine, not just 1. It IS working on a 3rd computer.

Should I maybe copy over the entire directory from my "Program Files" over?

I am really confused.

I am running the 64 bit version and they all show the same thing in the About tab.

I'll try the copy over Program files folder.

Maybe it has to do with lack of installation of XnView first? I have not yet installed it on the non-functional machines.

I went back to an older backup and was able to get the directory filled with them. To my surprise, they worked.

Something must have corrupted them in an really unusual way (only the older ones had issues).

Let me find the bad ones again as I tried to rid myself of them.

OK, here are my two files.

I have not yet installed nor found in the many tools I have installed so far (new machine) that does a byte for byte compare or carete hash code on these type files.

I hope you find something.

I've been using a NAS lately too that these may have traveled through. Too many recent variables for my tastes.

Thank you for a QUICK response.

Well, I can't seem to upload ANYTHING, regardless of what extension I put on it. Or none at all.

OK, can't seem to upload, so I'm sharing this dropbox folder with you:

the script that doesn't work seems to be invalid, not a text file...
The xbs can be opened with notepad...
