1.7.0: The scroll wheel key cannot switch files when previewing a video

Post by aucora »

XnView: MP 1.7.0 - 64 bit
OS: Windows -64 bit

When I'm previewing images, I really like using the scroll wheel to switch between them, it's very convenient. But when I preview the video, the scroll wheel button doesn't work and I can't switch files.

Effect: Can't switch files

To reproduce:
1. Open a folder containing videos
2. Enable preview
3. Place the cursor on the preview window and use the scroll wheel to switch files
4. Image files can be switched normally using the scroll wheel, but once switched to video, the scroll wheel will not work. :(

same issue with audio and text, guess behavior should be:
  • audio - same as for video
  • text - same as in Viewer: scroll to the start/end of the file and switch to the prev/next file

Sorry I forgot to upload the ini file earlier.

It doesn't seem to be possible to upload the INI format, I've changed its suffix to PDF. Please remember to change it back.

Hopefully this bug can be fixed.

In addition, if Ctrl+scroll wheel, etc., can control the progress bar of video playback, such as forward or backward by 5 seconds, then XnView MP is perfect.

Thank you.

Everything works in XnView MP 1.8.4 (Windows 11), thanks!

But I would also really like to be able to scroll video files with the mouse wheel not only in the Preview window, but also in Viewer and Full Screen modes. The way it can be done with images now. This would be very convenient when viewing a large number of short video files. If it's technically possible, of course.

Now, as far as I know, there is no way in the program to quickly switch between video files in the main viewing modes using hotkeys, buttons on the panel or mouse wheel. So you have to go back to the file browser after watching a short video and select the next video. And so every time. Perhaps I don't know something, but I haven't found such functionality in the program yet.

I didn't understand your question. I meant that it would be good to make it possible to scroll through video files with the mouse wheel in all viewing modes, just like you can do with image files. It's good for short videos.
