Once I have catalogued a folder from an external drive,
I was assuming that thumbnails would be displayed even if the external drive is not connected,
but now I see that I'm kind of "losing" thumbnails:

So my question: is it possible to see the thumbnails even if the external drive is not connected?
If yes, why am I "losing" some of the thumbnails?
Thanks

Re: Thumbails and external drives
Is this a feature that you contemplate to introduce in forthcoming versions?
I really miss it compared to lightroom asset management tool.

so to be able to have only the thumbnail for files already in catalog but not physically present, right?alobo wrote:Is this a feature that you contemplate to introduce in forthcoming versions?

Pierre.
Re: Thumbails and external drives
Yes. It is a very useful feature in case the user has photos in different external drives. Currently users can search across external drives thanks to have the db on the internal hard drive
but not see the thumbnails. If thumbnails were (optionally) stored on the internal drive also, the user could actually see the result of the search and then
connect the appropriate external drive to see the actual photos. It is often hard to know on which external drive you have "that" photo...
