AVIF files and strange metadate editability

Hello.

In the image browser if I select one or more avif image(s) and go to menu, the "Edit IPTC" or "Edit XMP" options are greyed out:

Yet if I open the image, the options are available:

Snipaste_2025-01-05_12-55-57.jpg

This prevents me to edit multiple file metadata at once. Why is this restriction?

• in Viewer
  you edit loaded image, which may be saved in another format
  that may or may not support your edits (eg adding metadata), depending on app/format abilities

• in Browser
  you do not change file format, so app disables not supported edit options

But metadata are editable in both for other common formats like jpg/png etc.
