UNC Path / Network Share folder tree browse delay

Post by CarlosGT »

Some post ago for Classic and now on MP with same behaviour.
Environment: Synology NAS with Active Directory. Computers with Windows 7 -10 Pro. Latest version XnView and full updated. Gigabit LAN wired. 3 devices over the network (Server + 3 PC).
INI modified to inlcude ExpandUNC=True on [%General] tab.

I can browse on windows all the folders and network shared folder instantly. If i click over a network photo on the windows explorer, Xnview MP open instantly. No problem here. I can run the mouse wheel and see full screen photos BUT, when double click to go to the Xnview Navigator there are 2 freezes:
1st.- Show "Desktop icon" No folders
2nd.- Show "Not responding"

After 30 seconds, navigator folder pane shows the network tree and i can browse and work normally (Note: My computer "Liberty" appears twice )

Same behaviour on Classic.

Tried to remove folders thumbs as read on some post, with no success.

Thank you for your help.

Hi Pierre,

Please, let me know where insert the "debug=2" line on the .ini file. I guess this create a log file on the Xnview folder.

Thank you for your support.

its already there (equal 0 by default), change it to 2

Code: Select all

[Start]
debug=0

Hi,
On Classic .ini there is no [Start] label (neither debug=0, line). Inserted at the top of the .ini file with no effect.

On XnviewMP that label exist. Have changed to "2" and appears on background a debug screen. I can copy/paste this text to send it to Pierre.

Thank you.
