Limited batch adjustments?

Post by haegx031 »

Hi all, new here so please be gentle with me!

I heard this program has great batch support but I'm struggling. On individual pictures it's easy to adjust the basic settings like brightness, contrast, etc. and to save a set of adjustments via preset, but I'm finding it impossible to use that preset on multiple photos as a batch.

I would think this would be a basic function but I can't figure out how to do it. As a batch I'm able to make some adjustments but none of them are really the same as the single-photo adjuster (ie: no "brightness", no "contrast" slider) and it definitely doesn't include the preset I already saved.

Can anyone advise? I'm using this for work so I need to be able to apply settings to all photos. If not, I'll have to find another solution.

Which options are actually missing, more than Temperature and Tint?

The second photo uploaded shows the fields i need. The first screenshot shows the batch adjustments. There is no brightness, contrast, or gamma, nor can I access my preset.

Good news -- they're hidden -- please check Add action > Map > Adjust.

Possible 'Adjust' isn't really the best name, although it does invite one to examine the options that can be 'adjusted', can you suggest a better name?

Actually, user0, shouldn't it be Add action > Map > Adjust... with the ellipsis?

I'm in XnConvert 1.100.1, when you click Add action you should see a dropdown with Image, Map, Filter and Misc options.

I can't make a screenshot of the open menu in Linux, but here's one of the options you desire:

yeah, I would probably rename:
Enhance colors... → Adjust... OR Adjust colors...

other apps use the following for the similar set of tools:
- Color correction (IrfanView, Imagine)
- Tone mapping (Affinity)
- Adjust colors (FastStone)
