Hi,
Not sure where to post my issue so I'll post it here for now.
I'm using XnView MP 1.7.2 on macOS BigSur 11.7.10 and I have an issue with the Thumb's db!
I have quite a lot of photos on my drive and the Thumb.db is 738MB but grows every time I open a directory which is normal when it's a new directory.
Whenever I open a directory that already has been openened and didn't change, XnView scans the whole dir again and the Thumb.db grows.
At some point the db got so big that XnView kept crashing and I had to delete the db so I could use it again.
I love this software a lot and I wanted to know how I can avoid this problem in the future.
All suggestions are welcome, I don't want to use anything else to view my photos.
Thanks for the support/suggestions and keep up the very good work.
Dakta

do you use 'base path' or 'excluded/included' folder for catalog?

I'm now on XnView MP 1.8.0 and same problem, the Thumb.db file got huge.

Euh... No, not really.
Most of my photos are on an external Thunderbolt SSD drive.
I see that the catalog size is 3.59 Gb.
I also changed the Thumbnails settings, see the screenshot.
And this is the Catalog "settings":
