When doing batch convert, the Date Modified of result is all mixed

I have a batch of images named "filename (x).jpg", like filename (1).jpg, filename (2).jpg, etc

When I do a batch convert (rename, or reduce jpg quality) into a target folder, the resulting images don't have their Date Modified in the order that was in the Input tab of the batch convert. That is, I want the Date Modified of the processed images to be in the order they appear in the Input tab. How can I do that?
