Run directly Viewer without Catalog

Hi all,

I'm using a customized Picasa 3,9 as an interface for about 130 thousand photos and about 100 thousands faces. But, Picasa is having a hard time to handle many faces, although it continues to work fine if the face recognition gets disabled. The problem is: if I disable face recognition, I have no way to show XMP RegionName in the archived photos. Thus, I'm looking for an app capable to read RegionName and show it in its own viewer.

I tried XnView the latest version. It allows me to open an image (through context menu "Open with"), but all the times it shows first the "Startup Wizzard". Clicking OK without changing anything, it show the message "There is a problem to open catalog, check your settings or folder used". Clicking OK I can access to the View menu and click "Show people's region" and get the RegioName on screen.

Is there any way to skip Startup Wizzard, the error message and to jump directly to view without building a catalog?

sounds like you have no write rights for app's default settings/db folder:
c:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\XnViewMP

you can try to fix it by granting rights or make some changes at Startup Wizard:
