Missing filter by Ratings

Post by revaaron »

For some reason, I cannot filter by Rating in View > Filter by on my laptop. This is the function that makes XnView so critical for me - I can quickly and easily run through JPEGs, tag the ones I like an the ones I want to delete with a 5 or 1 star rating, and then filter by those ratings to process further. The other filter options show up as expected - see screenshot.

I've run through the Settings many times, but can't find a setting where I may have accidentally disabled filtering by Ratings.

I tried deleting my settings folder ("C:\Users\rev\AppData\Roaming\XnViewMP") and starting again from scratch. Still, not Ratings in the filter box.

I'm currently running 1.5.5. Just updated to the latest 1.6.1 and the issue is still there. I run an older version of XnView MP 1.3.1 - using the portable ZIP rather than installed - on another PC, configured the same way (mostly). I don't have this issue with that instance. I've even copied the app's folder to the new PC - Ratings show up as they should there.

Any ideas?

And oddly enough, even though there are no Rating entries in the Filter by menu, there is a Rating & Colour label entry with the menu, complete with ratings. They work fine for setting the rating. There is just no way to filter by Rating.
