When I browse a picture and press ctrl + c, I would like to copy it to powerpoint, however, it only give me the path of the picture file.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

How to change the shortcut of ctr+C to copy the image content instead of the path and file name?

Re: How to copy the picture to powerpoint?
it looks like there is an issue with xnview and clipboard
my experience with ctrl+c from xnview & ctrl+v into:
XnViewMP 1.4.3 64bit
Windows11 64bit (22H2), display resolution 3840x2160, win scaling 150%
Office 2021 32bit
my experience with ctrl+c from xnview & ctrl+v into:
- mspaint, access
xnview open or closed - pastes as expected (selected or full image, depends on your selection)
- word, powerpoint, visio
xnview is open - does not paste selection, always pastes full picture
xnview is closed* - pastes as expected (selected or full image, depends on your selection)
- excel
xnview is open - does not paste any image at all, pastes full address only
xnview is closed* - pastes as expected (selected or full image, depends on your selection)

Re: How to copy the picture to powerpoint?
if it doesn't work (by default Ctrl+C is Copy and filename is copied) you can use 'Copy to cliboard>Image'

Re: How to copy the picture to powerpoint?
Not sure which mode OP uses, but my observations are related to Viewer mode.
My issue - lack of consistancy, as content pasted from clipboard differs, depending on xnview open/closed state.
It shall be the same, either path or image content.
As a side note, I expect ctrl+c to always copy image content in View mode.
I just cannot imagine the case when someone wants to copy image path in View mode by default.

Filename and bitmap data are copied to clipboard, but some apps check for filename, so you need to use 'Copy to cliboard>Image'
When exiting, there is an issue with clipboard, so i copy image data to clipboard only...

Re: How to copy the picture to powerpoint?
I have checked few other apps, non of them have issues with path:
I'm not sure why you need both path and image data in clipboard in the first place, but
imho, it is better to change default behaviour of ctrl+c, even if it is the issue of ms apps on receiving end.

Copying part of image is buggy
- faststone, irfanview
no issues with pasting selection or full image
- acdsee
- excel - no issues
- word, powerpoint, visio - does not past selection, only full image

- ctrl+c – copy image data (selection or full)
- ctrl+shift+c - copy path
btw, ctrl+shift+v - means paste plain/unformatted text in Excel/Google sheets, so ctrl+shift+c, copying path only, make more sense.

Many thanks.
What is the difference between the browser and viewer? When I double clicked a image, it is opened by xnveiew, is it in browser?

In browser you have the files, folders, info, categories panes...
'Settings>General - Mode when starting with a file'
