How to filter pictures based on EXIF tag.

Post by FKCapitalism »

I have made photo shoot that is mix of bracketed and regular photos in same folder.

My camera has special EXIF tag to mark bracketed photos called "ExposureMode" values are "Manual" and "Auto bracket" accordingly.

Can XnView MP somehow find images where EXIF tag "ExposureMode" = "Manual" so i can move them in separate folder?

A possible workaround is to copy ExposureMode into another metadata (like IPTC Caption, for jpg photos) that XnViewMp can filter or sort.

(Example on Windows)
Tools>Open with>Configure programs
"Add"
Browse into "AddOn" subfolder of XnViexMP, and select Exiftool . (Open)
Double click in "Parameters" column and add :
-k -overwrite_original -exposuremode>iptc:Caption-Abstract
You can edit a name for this (Double click in first column and enter a name : Expo2Caption for ex.)
Ok

Select a picture, right click, Open with, Expo2Caption
Now, the content of ExposureMode was copied into IPTC Caption
Check if all is ok before processing a lot of pictures

Then, there are different ways to filter on IPTC caption, tell us if you need more informations...
