Hello,
I have a problem with the speed between XnView Classic and XnViewMP.
The first is 4 times more speed than the other to access to my pictures (I have a lot of subdirectories).
My docs are on DropBox and they are crypted with Boccryptor.
I have two PC with the same configuration and both of them do the same.
What can I do to improuve it ?
Best regards.
BM

Re: XNviewMP very slow / Xnview
The problem is only when accessing DropBox folders? In XnView Classic no delay?
Pierre.

Hello,
Yes, only in Dropbox folders and XNview MP.
The sames folders with XNview is three times faster and with Fastone image viewer it is also very fast.
Regulary, XNview MP the program crashes.

Thank's for your help.

Re: XnView MP very slow
Hello! PC guy, long time user, first time poster, love the program, thanks for creating.
I have -over the years- been hit with this 'bug'. Suddenly my XnView (classic or mp) is SLOWWWWWW at start up. 5 seconds, sometimes longer. Today it happened again - around 12 second delay at startup.
I just spent an hour researching the issue and found a solution that worked for me. The issue I realized was only happening when opening image files in large folders with 'dead' shortcuts. (in my case i was trying to open an image on my desktop, which had a single dead shortcut). After I cleared out the shortcut everything worked perfectly again.
I hope this helps someone else. Jay.

having the same issue. startup takes like 5 sec or longer. pretty annoying, especially on a freshly reinstalled maschine with mega speeds on everything. any info on how to resolve? another very annoying thing - there's no option to export all settings. the options panels are so messy and 90%of them unuseful and hard to manage - too many windows, unclear options and etc. wish there was setting export option at least. ugh..

The latest 1.4.2 seems possibly a little slower to open on Linux than the previous version, I'm not sure, but I don't want to get into that...Apidae9124 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 8:27 pm having the same issue. startup takes like 5 sec or longer. pretty annoying, especially on a freshly reinstalled maschine with mega speeds on everything. any info on how to resolve?

The program is very configurable, and most of the options were provided in response to requests by users...
But if you go to Tools > Settings > Integration you can find the location of your .ini file, which holds your current settings, and then use the facility to open the the location so that you can easily save a copy.

thank you! will share this with coworkers and demand to support you more!
this is important stuff. and I get it, it's easy to get overcrowded with requests for improvements (...).
still, the best pic. viewing program out there, hands down!
having an option to save my setting me and my buddies will be able to try and reinstall, and etc. super handy. this option should be somewhere very visible. I spent wuite some time while looking for this (!).

Re: XnView MP very slow
You could also add "xnviewmp.exe" to Windows Security as a Process exclusion and see if that helps
