Blured text after rotation
Hi,
i have a lot of scanned comics here and sometimes i have to rotate the page a little bit (offen only 0.1 or 0.2 degrees). after that very offen the text is a little but blurred. when i use gimp for that i have the same problem, but here i can change the interpolation method and get better results. i can't find any option like this in xnview. anti-alias is enabled, without anti-alias i can only rotate with higher steps (1.0 or 2.0 degrees). but doing this with gimp is annoying.

Re: Blured text after rotation
Here are the three examples. i only made screenshots of the first panel and the screenshot from gimp is bigger. the difference is not very high, i couldn't find a better example. first is gimp rotate 0.2 with lohalo interpolation. second is the original and third is xnview also rotated 0.2 degrees.

Re: Blured text after rotation
i think that you use 'smooth'?
In gimp, i have the same blured text after rotation.
In gimp, i have the same blured text after rotation.

Re: Blured text after rotation
what do you meen with 'smooth'? interpolation method in gimp? in gimp i used 'lohalo'. in xnview there is no way to change the interpolation method.

Re: Blured text after rotation
This option is activated. without it i can't rotate an image in steps smaller than 1. steps like 0.1 or 0.5 are ignored.
Re: Blured text after rotation
XnRoot is referring to an option for GIMP's Transform Tools which allows the user to specify interpolation methods called LoHalo and NoHalo.

Re: Blured text after rotation
yes, this works with image magick and also with gimp but not with xnview. as i said the optionanti-alias is activated.
Re: Blured text after rotation
Is there a way to change the interpolation method at the moment or do you want to add this as a new feature?
